2000 Oakley ‘Over The Top’ Ice Iridium FMJ 5.56 Silver Sunglasses

Debuting in the year 2000, aka the beginning of Oakley’s ‘Mad Scientist’ era, these iconic Over The Top sunglasses come in an FMJ 5.56 frame as the ‘Ice Iridium’ variation. Designed by reverse engineering the human skull, these sunglasses discard traditional earstems, instead opting for a hingeless frame that wraps around the wearer’s head. As a lightweight instrument, the OTT’s are engineered to clutch the skull, intended to endure the most reckless feats of athleticism. Fit with a dual-spherical design and flush mounted orbitals with XYX optics for optimum clarity, they combine headgear with eyewear for the first time in tech wear history. Regarding the inspiration behind them, Jim Jannard (founder) stated, “We were on an island and discarded everything we knew. This is what we came up with.”
