  • Oakley was originally founded in 1975 out of James Jannard’s garage on a mere budget of $300. Named after his dog, Oakley Anne, Jannard would begin his culture-shifting design journey by selling moto-cross grips out of his trunk. With industry leaders like Michael Jordan and Denis Rodman adapting Oakley eyewear, the sport-centric label would become increasingly lucrative, until the peak of extreme sports in the late 90s. However, this shift in cultural interests didn’t phase Jannard’s team, as they entered their famed ‘mad scientist’ era. Dawning silhouettes like the OVERTHETOP sunglasses at the 2000 Sydney Summer Olympics and the beloved Medusa’s in 2002, Oakley hype would travel south as it surged in Brazil’s Baile funk scene. Further innovating with silhouettes like the Juliet sunglasses, among wristwear and clothing, Oakley would solidify itself as a symbol of forward thinking within the design community.

Debuting in September of 2011 alongside the Full Metal Jacket, this so-called ‘Hollowpoint’ blew the doors off of previously Oakley watch pricing. Retailing at $1,995 USD, a staggering jump from previous models at the time, the Hollowpoint silhouette would make waves as Oakley’s largest face size to date. Measuring 48MM, the interior mechanics feature Swiss Made 13-jewel movement with gold plating for optimized accuracy. Crafted entirely of titanium, the band is modelled after tank tracks, making for premium, lightweight comfort with durability that surpasses steel as well. Sub dials show elapsed seconds, minutes and hours for the chronograph, and an easy-to-read date indicator highlights the display. Anti-reflective coating augments a crystal composed of pure sapphire, in pair with a screw-down crown that enhances water resistance, allowing it to withstand 10 bar pressure, equivalent to a depth of 330 feet (100m). In pristine condition throughout, comes with the original packaging.
