2018 Kadoya ‘Akira’ Pill Cyberjac 30th Anniversary Leather Jacket

‘Akira’ released in 1988, is a cyberpunk anime which plays on the futuristics tropes of telepathy and rebellion. Created by Japanese artist Katsuhiro Otomo, the film has played a major role in the development of pop-culture, referenced in music videos like Kanye West’s “Stronger” and Michael Jackson's “Scream”. In celebration of Akira’s 30th anniversary, Kadoya was enlisted to craft special order biker jackets from the film. Imitating the Shōtarō Kaneda’s outwear, they were released in both cherry red and black renditions, the red being painstakingly limited. Imitating Kaneda’s red outfit, a blue and tan two-tone pill sits atop the backside, among ‘Cyberjac’ detailling on the sleeve. A silver K’s Leather nameplate sits as a finishing touch atop the chest, in pair with welt pockets and metallic hardware.
