2021 Yeezy x Teenage Engineering UNRELEASED SAMPLE Stem Player
First seen through various leaks in 2021, this extremely rare mixing device dubbed the ‘Stem Player’ comes as a collaboration between Yeezy and Teenage Engineering. While originally set to release that same year, for an undisclosed reason this device was scrapped and instead manufactured by Kano Tech in 2022 with an entirely revamped design. The first iteration, however, worked on the same premise as the official release, essentially taking “Stems”, i.e the striped components of a song: drums, vocals, piano etc, and allowing the viewer to mix and alter the volume of each track. Creating a user guided experience, the device was intended to simultaneously teach individuals about the framework of any song, making DJing so accessible it fit in your pocket.
As an unreleased sample from the original Yeezy x Teenage Engineering project, this incredible device features four separate mix channels, a built in speaker and analog buttons on all axis. Glowing white when turned on, sliders on the face adjust each component’s volume, which can easily be muted from buttons that sit just below. A play/pause bottom sits on the right side, in pair with a headphone jack, USB slot and USB-C charging port on the bottom. Completed by a matte silver finish and accenting beige tone on the right, this piece comes in pristine working condition and a charger as well.
