AW05 Number (N)ine The High Streets Hybrid Cargo ‘Docking’ Jacket

Titled “The High Streets”, Takahiro Miyashita’s Fall 2005 collection mocks the parallel between traditional luxury fashion and his own mutinous niche. He boasts of authenticity, arguing that true affluence is found within passion, not a price tag. The grunge-centric runway blared distorted tracks from Nirvana and Guns N’ Roses while models walked in checkered flannels, cardigans, bandanas and thrashed denim. Accredited as a peak among Miyashita’s broad portfolio, The High Streets prospers for its rebellious tropes.

Debuting in the Autumn of 2005 as the collection’s paperboy, this so-called ‘docking’ jacket comes complete with flannel sleeves and a repurposed nylon torso. Fit with a velvet blazer and accenting tan cargo accents on the right arm, a synched hem is accented by frayed hems and a draping silhouette. In great condition aside from some discolouration on olive green body, this piece is tagged as a size medium.
