AW20 Balenciaga ‘Faux Fur’ Cropped High Neck Bomber Jacket

Demna Gvasalia’s Autumn 2020 collection was staged inside the Cité du Cinema, focusing our attention towards global warming. With a flooded three rows of seating and a LED ceiling lit screens, the Georgian designer would immerse viewers with blazing skies and boiling seas, before a total eclipse reflected in the glimmering tides. Pushing viewers back as chairs sat underwater, Gvasalia intentionally removed audience members from the show’s forefront, highlighting our relationship with not only the environment, but the impending doom that awaits us. Walking full length scuba suits, form fitting sneakers and a series of androgynous silhouettes through puddles, the collection’s dark themes were both oversized and form fitting, creating a distinct contrast between the two.

 

Debuting in the Fall of 2020, this bomber comes as a standout of the collection. The black faux fur exterior is accented by etched BB hardware, a lined monogram quilted interior and massively oversized silhouette. In line with the collection’s shapeless cuts, a cropped torso comes alongside a massively wide pattern and exaggerated collar, finalized with a double full-length zipper track. Tagged as a size 46 or small, this jacket fits a standard large and is in pristine condition throughout.
