AW20 Balenciaga ‘Shawl Collar’ Black Full Length Trench Coat

Demna Gvasalia’s Autumn 2020 collection was staged inside the Cité du Cinema, focusing our attention towards global warming. With a flooded three rows of seating and a LED ceiling lit screens, the Georgian designer would immerse viewers with blazing skies and boiling seas, before a total eclipse reflected in the glimmering tides. Pushing viewers back as chairs sat underwater, Gvasalia intentionally removed audience members from the show’s forefront, highlighting our relationship with not only the environment, but the impending doom that awaits us. Walking full length scuba suits, form fitting sneakers and a series of androgynous silhouettes through puddles, the collection’s dark themes were both oversized and form fitting, creating a distinct contrast between the two.

Debuting in the Autumn of 2020 under Demna Gvasalia’s direction, this incredible full length trench coat comes in a black tint. Fit with a shawl collar, slim profile and monogram lining, the overcoat is finished with top loading hand pockets and an interior compartment to pair.
