  • Throughout the 90s, French designer Jean Paul Gaultier displayed his fascination with the human body across a wide assortment of garments. Employing a technique known as Trompe L’Oeil to create a three dimensional effect, he’d manipulate lines and shapes to form the male musculature atop a wearer’s body. Creating the optical illusion of a naked silhouette, this print was famously worn by Robin Williams in 1996 and has since become one of his most famed graphics.

Debuting in the Autumn of 1996, this iconic jacket sports Gaultier’s ‘muscle’ graphic atop a zippered base. Using lines to depict a chiseled abdomen and chest, the Trompe L’oeil technique is manipulated to create a 3D effect as if the wearer is naked. Accented by JPG branded hardware and a skin fitting cut, a chest pocket sits in pair a cull print collar to finish. Tagged a size medium, this piece is in great condition throughout.
