AW98 General Research ‘Parasite’ 39 Pocket Pinstripe Coveralls
General Research’s 1998 ‘Parasite’ collection has garnered mass infamy since debut. Influencing many of today’s maximal utilitarian trends, the collection can be accredited as the origin of highly functional absurdity, plastering hundreds of pockets atop tactical wear. Walking bulletproof vests among coveralls and 100-pocket puffer jackets, Kobayashi Setsumasa (GR’s founder & creative director) worked to surpass practicality through rigid textiles and intricate patterning techniques. Dawning a new age in technical design, he would work to innovative in a newly saturated field, among the likes of Helmut Lang and Dolce & Gabbana.
Debuting in the Fall of 1998, this incredibly lucrative pair of coveralls features 39 top loading, velcro clasped pockets. Demonstrating the ethos Setsumasa’s ‘Parasite’ collection, a thick pinstripe base is accented with heavyweight brass hardware and a yellow sleeve patch. Tagged as a size medium, the suit is in pristine condition throughout.
