Raf Simons’ induction to the Calvin Klein label was an unprecedented move back in 2016. The designer was met with heaps of backlash upon announcement, as many disliked the direction Simons had envisioned. Tackling Western aesthetics, it would be years before his creative direction would be appreciated, but is now regarded as the height of Simons’ modern era. The designer’s contract was terminated following his Spring 2019 collection, and elusive knits, prints and collaborations have become incredibly sought after as a result.
Produced in collaboration with Andy Warhol, a widely celebrated American artist, this sweater depicts a minimalistic portrait of an unidentified man. He speaks with love, a heart falling from his lips, reading “Oh boy” in a cursive font. The heavyweight knit comes in a tonal cream textile, each hem reinforced with ribbing. Fitting oversized, this sweater retains a draping silhouette, tagged as a true to size extra large, in pristine condition throughout.
