  • Takahiro Miysashita’s Spring 2006 collection titled “Welcome to the Shadow” paid homage to rock legend Axel Rose’s stage wardrobe. Repurposing iconic designs and the nuance of his most notable looks, Miyashita brought an abundance of chains, half-clothed looks, rock n’ roll motifs, and of course, tons of bandanas. Each model strut to a catalogue of Guns n’ Roses’ discography, taking place at the Batavian theatre, Paris. Stepping to the band’s dingy guitar riffs and metal drum work, he looked through an Eastern lens at the Americana world, celebrating Miyashita’s undying love for Western culture.

In contrast to the vulgar ethos of Takahiro Miyashita’s Spring 2006 collection, this tee features massive white script lettering along the body. The ominous poem reads ‘When I finished dreaming I casually glanced out the window and saw that it had started to rain’, speaking of the duality between one’s hopes and their harsh reality. In this instance, the rain portrays the dreamer’s comedown, as his imagined circumstances flee. On the underside, we’re met with Takahiro’s infamous ‘Stupid’ graphic, that references classic rock insignia. Tagged as a rare size medium, this piece is in pristine condition throughout.
