SS08 Raf Simons ‘Cut Out’ Teal Slit Collar Crewneck

Raf Simons’ Spring 2008 collection focused on disconnecting with the digital world and reconnecting with base reality. Taking inspiration from backpackers and free spirits, this season, he’d experiment with tonal fittings and camping attire, bringing shorts, sandals and rain jackets to the runway. Opening with a series of white looks, he’d then walk bright hues and experimental footwear with an emphasis on full body trench coat silhouettes and minimal sweaters. Rebelling against what Simons’ referred to as the “www-generation”, he brought viewers back to their roots with a critically acclaimed show.

Debuting in the Spring of 2008, this crewneck demonstrates the Belgian designer’s focus on deconstructed silhouettes. Slitting the back collar to create a cut out detail on the neckline, Raf Simons’ iconic teal colouring coats the heavy weight cut.
